Would be worth to mention here one more thing, the meters installed by Mahagun are currently charging us on the basis of KVAH(Kilo Volt Ampere per Hour) rather than KWH(Kilo Watt Hour) when as per my knowledge country domestic users are charged on basis of KWH only. In face I had been paying based on KWH only in Noida.
However when I confronted CSK(Mr Upendra and Mr. Yash), I was told that in Ghaziabad UPPCL is charging on basis of KVAH only since last 2 years or so. Which I seriously doubt, if anyone coming from Inidirapuram/Ghaziabad could confirm it.
PS: Just to give brief overview of on KWH and KVAH charging, KWH charging is based on rated input of the appliances i.e. a 100W bulb would consume 1KWH in 10 hours. However KVAH also takes into account power factor especially in case of inductive loads such as Tubelights, refrigerators, ACs, washing machines etc. For example a refrigerator may consume .15KWH however due to powerfactor it actually consumes .32 KVAH. In India none of the domestic user is liable for KVAH billing, its only in case of industrial users that it comes into affect. So one of the reasons for our higher bills is due to the very fact that we are being billed @ KVAH whereas CSK/CRPCL/Rathi Power whomsoever is actually getting power from UPPCL @ KWH basis only. So these guys are making profit from this as well!
Thanks,

Hi Deepika,
On increased daily consumption from 13-14 units to 30-40 units, it could be due to the fact that AC/s is/are being used due to peak summer heat prevailing since last few days.
However going through the readings noted by you, I am particularly suspicious about couple of readings in particular as
20-May
879
7:10am
21-May
921
7:00am
Because we all know that there was no normal power supply from 20th May 1 pm till about 5pm 21st May. So I really wonder how can 42 Units(921-879) be used in 5-6 hours, unless you have 2-3 AC running full time for the duration!
Thanks,

Raju ji,
I have been keeping the track of my electricity units. My consumption is same since I have been residing here. But, I have observed that there is sudden hike in my consumed units of electricity and what makes me think that there is something fishy about electricity is that , we were not at home since 17th May afternoon 1pm till 20 May 8pm and only our refrigerator was on. We came to our home several times to pick some of our stuff and at that time also I tracked the electricity units. I am sharing this data with you.
I have observed that my consumption is 13-14 units per day and from last few days despite of being out of the house it has increased to 35-40 units per day, though the no. of appliances are same and hours of usage is same. I am very upset and wondering what to do.

I would like to suggest that we should cast this news in Print and Electronic Media too, this will help two ways –
1. New buyer will be more cautious, directly related with Builder' interest not only for this project but also for other projects too. So it will create the pressure.
2.Who have already purchased the flat with Mahagun and not following the any email group, they will also ask for the clarification and can/will hold the payment too.
See if it will helpful to us.

Gaurav

I completely agree with Gaurav.
Rather than cornering the builder on all the points simultaneously and getting into a conflict situation, it would make sense if we focus on raising the bar on performance factors.
The power scenario is an immediate concern and should be treated on priority. Getting power through private players is not that bad provided we are entitled to all the inherent benefits. We should strive for a proper, well published rostering plan. Any deviation to that plan (say > 10%) should attract penalty to the service provider - CCPCL.
Let CCPCL reimburse the charges for running and maintaining the DG Sets for our society during such beak down.

Phone : 2840346-350

This place is just across the road near Dundahera. Pin code is also of Dundahera.
History of Rathi Steel and Power
2008 -Company name has been changed from Rathi Udyog Ltd to Rathi Steel & Power Ltd
=========================================
It means, just to attach itself to CRPCL business; the company changed its name in 2008 [around the same time, crossing started]
Now Crossing is RTM [Ready-to-move] stage, we must force Mahagun to take a direct connection from UPPCL... We have paid EEC for that and it was all part of agreement...
Even though they route the electricity through private player, it should not be charged more than the government rate... BECAUSE the private player is not a electricity supplier.. they are just routing the UPPCL electric.

Hi All,
Just a thought from my side. Maybe we can discuss on this in detail in the GBM.
Till the time we get power from government, we need to ask Crossings to rework the contract with the current power provided (Power company). There should be penalty clauses imposed on the supplier based on the number of hours of outage / day.
The private company is providing a service in terms of providing electricity. Hence in my view they should be legally bounded by strict performance rules. If they do not give adequate supply the contract should impose penalty on them.

I would like to suggest that if we are on private electricity supply; we must put a pressure on Mahagun to get UPPCL connection directly.
Benefits:
1. We will not be mercy of any 3rd party to get the power supply. All load shedding will be directly from government, which is currently 8 hours even in remote area of Jhansi.
2. The current charges of INR 65/KW/Month will be reduced to INR 40/KW/Month....
3. The current charges of INR 3.80 per unit will be reduced to INR 3.20...
Its absolutely cheating from Whole Crossing builder lobby... they and Rathi Power are making handsome money out of electricity... [A side business].
Further, When google; I could not find any "Rathi Power" ... rather it is "Rathi Steel and Power Ltd" ... If it is the company.. the we are absolutely being cheated as this company do not have any business in power production.
It means.. We are being charged for electricity, which is our basic rights.... Need to dig up more on this nexus.

Electricity Issue in Mahagun Mascot
Dear Valued Resident,
This is just to keep you informed that MMRWA called an urgent Executive Body Meeting (EBM) meeting last night at 9 PM to discuss on the current electricity issue in the entire township. As you all are aware that we are on DG and there will be no main power supply in the society till 22nd May 2012 and have forced to pay hefty amount as recharge coupon for electricity bill.
During the discussion, we suddenly called Mr. S. C. Sharma (AVP-Commercial, Mahagun India Pvt. Ltd.) and Mr. Mayank Aggarwal (Director, CSK Facility Management Pvt. Ltd.) and informed them that the resident are not happy with the current power distribution and we all are very panic as of now. They said that the current issue is not from Mahagun's end, it is from Crossings Republik Power Corporation Ltd. (CRPCL) as the CT/PT devise has some fault and they are working to resolve these issues ASAP.
After this call, MMRWA decided to visit the CRPCL to know the exact situation and a group of 35 people from our society visited there and we came to know that there is no UPPCL power supply within the society and the entire Crossings Republik is running on private power supply (so called Rathi Power Industries). This is a very serious concern. Then, I called Mr. Pandey (Coordinator-CRPCL) and Mr. S. C. Sharma (GM-CRPCL) but they said that they are not answerable for any question as they already informed the individual societies/builders that the power distribution will be disturbed for next 48 hours.
The question is – Till how long this will continue we don't know. We, as a resident can't bear the hefty electricity bill for longer period. It is our right to have government power supply as we have paid all the statutory amounts/dues while buying the apartment and at the time of registration. The township is also approved by GDA under the U.P.Township Scheme. Therefore we can't be the victim for the major Electricity Supply issue. Mahagun had assured and committed to provide the basic amenities at the time of booking and at the time possession were not being provided by the builders even after many month of the possession which is their core responsibility under the agreement signed with them.
Now, MMRWA is going to escalate the subject issue to the Builder – Mahagun India Pvt. Ltd. so that they can escalate it to the Crossings Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. i.e. the entity responsible for the development of the entire township to understand the subject and to apprise the status of the development of power station with the sufficient power supply for the township otherwise we will proceed for the legal action/Consumer Forum for the same as we are feeling that we have been cheated by the builder.
Please let me know if you have any question.
